Mrs Ida Anna Mardis, died at her home in Burrell Township yesterday, December 11, at 1:30 pm. Born in Brush Valley Township, Indiana County, on April 12, 1870, she was a daughter of the late William H Zack and Martha (Herron) Zack and was the widow of the late Daniel W Mardis who preceded her in death in 1934.
Surviving are five sons, Homer E, Black Lick, Foster J and Stewart A, both of Bairdstown, and Harry L and Charles A, both at home; one daughter, Mrs Thomas H Poe, Middletown, O; three sisters, Mrs Bertha Horner, Bethlehem, Mrs M J Patterson, Blairsville, and Mrs Elsie Chapin, Coudersport; one brother, Foster Zack, Texas.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, Black Lick. Friends will be received at the Hunter Funeral Home, Blairsville, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will follow in the Coral Chapel Cemetery. The Rev John M Hempstead, pastor of the Blairsville Methodist Church, will officiate. (Indiana Evening Gazette, Monday, December 12, 1949)
