Alice N. (O'Brien) Elsinger, 83, formerly of 242 Bischoff St., passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on Sept. 15, 1919, in Eden, a daughter of the late John and Kathryn Mahoney O'Brien. On Nov. 11, 1950, she married Arnold M. Elsinger at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eden. Mrs. Elsinger was a physical education teacher at Marian College and for the Mayville and Fond du Lac School Districts. She was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Patrick's Church, Wisconsin Education Association, Retired Teachers of Fond du Lac, St. Rose of Lima Foresters and the Shamrock Club, who declared her "Irish Person of the Year" in 1991. She was an avid bowler and golfer. Survivors include one son, Jack (LuAnn) Elsinger of Stevens Point, and her two grandchildren, Robin and Daniel. Preceding her in death were her husband, Arnold, in October of 1951, four brothers and two sisters. Services: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at noon Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Holy Family Parish-St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Timothy O'Brien, her nephew, and the Rev. John Radetski will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Eden. Visitation: From 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Zacherl Funeral Home, where a parish vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation also will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services Thursday, May 8, 2003, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be directed to St. Mary's Springs High School. She was buried on 8 May 2003 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Eden, Fond du Lac Co, WI.
