Harold Arthur Jay, 24, was the son of Emery Arthur Jay, born in Climax, Kansas, and Mary A. (Cole) Jay. born in McCune, Kansas of Howard, Kansas.
While serving in World War II, Technician 4th Grade was killed in action in Luzon in the Philippine Islands on February 5th, 1945.
It was not until the Fourth of July in 1948 that services could be held for him at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha with Rev. Jep Williams of Howard, a Protestant, officiating. Pallbearers included Loren Kling, Waldo Gray, Arthur McCune, Morris Marrion, Hobert Workman and Bill Marrion.
