C.R. McInturff, 93, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dumas. Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

C.R. McInturff, 93, of Amarillo, and formerly of Dumas, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dumas with Rev. Lane Boyd officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. McInturff was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Sentinel, Okla., to Sara "Sallie" Elizabeth and Charles Robert McInturff. He was one of eight children. He attended public schools in Pettit, Hockley County, Texas.

After serving in the Navy Seabees during World War II, he settled in Dumas where he worked at American Zinc. He was privileged to serve as treasurer of American Zinc Credit Union. He was later employed at Dumas Memorial Hospital, Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, and with Dumas Independent School District.

Fishing was one of his favorite hobbies, as well as reading western novels.

C.R. moved to Amarillo in 2007 to be closer to family. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Louise McInturff; two daughters, Tamra and husband Lane Boyd, of Amarillo and Linda and husband Robert Snyder of Graham, NC; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to The Building Fund, Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
