On 11 November 1891 Mary Ann married Warren M. Shearer. They resided in Seaton village for 20 years and in 1911 moved to Monmouth, Illinois. Later they moved to Galesburg, Illinois and still later to Peoria, Illinois. After son Boyd's death in 1926 they returned to Mercer County where they farmed until their retirement to Aledo, Illinois. Mary died at their home in Aledo on 4 February 1936.
