Arlis E. Brown, 64, of rural Williamsfield, IL died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 1994, at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

Born Sept. 15, 1929, in Dahinda to Wallen Allen and Elsie F. Dawson Brown, he married Cheryl M. Mahar on Feb. 26, 1953, in Williamsfield. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Marty and David, both of Williamsfield; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Tamra) Smith of Williamsfield and Mrs. Joe (Gretchen) McIntire of Double Oak, Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson and one sister.

He was an office worker at Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville for 38 years, retiring in 1984.

A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Williamsfield American Legion Post 371.

Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by his American Legion post.
