Professional Football Player. For six seasons (1969 to 1974), he played at the guard position in the National and Canadian Football Leagues with the Los Angeles Rams, St. Louis Cardinals and British Columbia Lions. He attended attended Spalding High School in Illinois and played collegiate football at the University of Wyoming. Selected by the Rams during the 1968 NFL Draft, he went onto appear in 51 regular season NFL games. During his rookie season (1969), he served as a blocker for quarterback Roman Gabriel and later with the Cardinals, he handled blocking duties for quarterback Jim Hart. LaHood concluded his career in 1974 with the CFL's British Columbia squad. After retiring as a player, he remained in the sport and served as a youth football coach in his native Illinois.
