"George R. Kallio, 86, of Chisholm, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in the Fairview University Medical Center, Mesabi. He was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Balkan Twp., the son of Richard and Sophie Kallio. He graduated from Chisholm High School, and was married to Molly Nucech. George worked as a salesman for the Electrolux Co., and also represented other products. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. His greatest joy was bee keeping, he was known to many as the 'Honey Man'. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Patricia Komidor; and two brothers, Werner and Anton. George is survived by his wife, Molly; a son, Kenneth (Jonelle) Kallio of Balkan; five grandchildren, Kevin Kallio, Kim (Mark) Yuretich, Debbie (Tim) Ferrell, Jenelle (Doug) Bryan, and Tammy (Mark) Blagoue; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: At George's request, there will be no services held. There will be a gathering with his family and friends on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, from 3 p.m until 6 p.m. at his son's home, located at 5874 Long Lake Rd., Chisholm. Arrangements are with Anderson-Daniels, a Bauman Family Funeral Home, in Hibbing."
