Funeral Rites Held For Anton Paulsen

Former Blair Resident Dies at Ft. Dodge, Iowa.


Anton Paulsen, a former Blair resident, passed away at his home in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, last Sunday evening. The body was brought to Blair for burial and after a funeral service at the Danish Lutheran church yesterday afternoon with Rev. James Lund, officiating, interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

The deceased was born March 11, 1871, in Denmark, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christoffer Paulsen. His parents moved to Blair in 1883 and he was reared in this community, taking a position in the collar factory upon reaching maturity. He was married in Blair and a few years later moved to Boone, Iowa, where he lived many years before moving to Ft. Dodge. At the time of his death he was engaged in the grocery business in Ft. Dodge.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Paulsen; three sons by a former marriage, Silas, Raymond and Orval Paulsen; three brothers, Martin, Chris and Paul Paulsen, all of Blair; and four sisters, Mrs. K.P. Hundahl and Mrs. M.P. Hansen of Blair, Mrs. H.P. Nielsen of Minnesota and Mrs. John Hatting of Minneapolis.

Was enumerated as Cecil Paulson (sic) in 1910 and residing with his mother and stepfather in Boone County, Iowa.

Raymond Paulsen, b ca 1899 in Iowa. Was residing with his mother, Hilda B.(b ca 1869 in Sweden), and her (second) husband, Max G C Helmke (b ca 1871 in Germany), in Boone County, Iowa in 1910 and 1920. Residing in Boone Co. in 1925 and md to Grace (b ca 1898 in PA).

Raymond Paulson (sic?) and Grace Montgomery were married on 08 Oct 1923 at Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. raymond's parents were identified as Andrew (No surname) and Hilda Boberg. Grace was the daughter of Ira (No surname) and Olive Patten.

Anton moved to Iowa with his family ca 1903. First wife was b in Sweden.

SSDI: Gracie Paulson, b 13 Dec 1899 and d 28 Dec 1989. Last residence of Boone Iowa.
