In 1945, Mr Leigh moved to Washington from Boston where he had worked as a hotel cook.
After moving to Maine, he worked as a lumberman, woodsman, in a sawmill, and for Lucas Tree Expert before retiring.
He is survived by nine sons and three daughters, 33 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.
