Josephine C. Verace, 84, Rockford, died at 2:58 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 1994, in her residence after a short illness.

Born May 30, 1909, in New Orleans, La., daughter of Alex and Anna Gulotta. Lived most of her life in Rockford, coming here from Louisiana. Married Vincenzo V. Verace in Rockford, Nov. 20, 1928.

Member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Charles A. Verace, Vincent V. (Gloria) Verace and Samuel Verace, all of Rockford; daughter, Anita (Tony) Mioni, Rockford; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Peter (Rose) Gulotta and Anthony (Mary) Gulotta, Rockford, and Joseph (Flo) Gulotta, Kirkland; three sisters, Anna Rinaldo, Colorado, Jenny Cook and Stella (John) Geraci, Rockford; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by husband, in 1981; two brothers, Jasper and Sam Gulotta; sister, Rose Vuttera; and two grandsons, Vincent and Jimmy Verace.

Services at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, in St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Franciscan Fathers officiating. Arrangements by GASPARINI & OLIVERI FUNERAL HOME, 707 Marchesano Drive. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial will be established with family.
