Dewey Franklin. 67, of Mechanicsville, Va., died Wednesday at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Richmond, Va.
Mr. Franklin was a self-employed carpenter.
His family states, "He enjoyed gardening, was an avid hunter and belonged to several hunt clubs."
Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Shirley Franklin; four children and their spouses: Harry and Kim Franklin, Barbara and Pat Corey, Carolyn and Robert Ball, and Paul and Tina Franklin; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers; and six sisters.
He was a son of the late Roscoe and Vestina Franklin and was preceded in death by a son, Cliff Franklin, and a brother, Lester Franklin.
There will be no visitation locally.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Whites Cemetery in Parrottsville. The Rev. Buster Shelton will officiate.
Family and friends will meet at 2:15 at the cemetery.
Kiser Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
