Loren Maxine Whitehorn (Light Woman) "Awa hadi Wia", 35, New Town, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident near Williston. Loren was born December 4, 1977 in Minot, the daughter of Steve and Tina (Roszelle) Whitehorn. She was raised in Oklahoma before moving with her family to Beulah where she attended elementary school. When the family moved to New Town she attended New Town High School where she graduated in 1996. Loren furthered her education in Fashion Design in Long Beach, California and later attended Haskell Indian Nations University where she met and married Tyler Chesarek. Loren then completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at Montana State University, Bozeman in 2004. Loren continued her education at the University of Kansas school of Social Welfare. She received her master's degree in Social Work in 2009. Soon after, Loren accepted the student counselor position at New Town Public Schools. She recently settled into her current position as a Behavioral Health Specialist with the MHA Nation. Loren loved working with the entire community. She enjoyed exercising, spending time with family and traveling. She had a strong faith in God and faithfully attended the New Town Baptist Church every week. Family: Loren is survived by: her daughters, Madison Chesarek and Monica Chesarek; parents, Steve Whitehorn and Tina (Roszelle) Whitehorn; sisters, Christina Coriz (Ken) and Patricia Whitehorn and Dayle Joseph; nephews, Roman Whitehorn, Lucas Whitehorn, Shiloh Coriz and Parker Whitehorn; and niece, Alexis Coriz. She was preceded in death by her brother, Zachariah Whitehorn; grandparents, Timothy Sr. and Regina (Grady) Whitebody Roszelle and Richard and Loren (Thomas) Whitehorn; uncle, Monte Roszelle and aunts, Gloria Vangen, Karla Starr, Reva Roszelle and Vivian Whitehorn. Funeral: Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Johnny Bird Veterans Memorial Hall, New Town. Wake: Thursday, May 30, 2013 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the memorial hall. Burial: Whitehorn Family Cemetery, rural New Town
