Kirby I. Shuman, well known carpenter and home builder of Bowling Green, died of a heart attack while working on a home on Church Street. He was born November 13, 1865 in Seneca County, coming to Wood County about 40 years ago.

On July 18, 1888, he was married to Nellie Porter and to this union a fine family was raised. He and his wife were very faithful members of the United Brethren Church here and he was a member of the Men's Red Circle class of that church.

His wife was killed several years ago in a train accident near their home.

Mr. Shuman was a man of great personality, possessed with a humorous wit. He had made many friends here who were shocked to hear of his passing. He was well liked by all who knew him.

Services will be held Friday.
