Charles Johnson Polley was born in Illinois, moved to Nebraska at an early age and later moved to Kansas where he married his childhood sweetheart in 1896. Charlie and His wife Ora then moved to Oklahoma where they lived for 25 years and reared their six children, Mahala Lucy, Jesse Charles, Hazel Beatrice, Edith Velma, Beulah del Juanita & May Louise (changed her name to Mae Lucille). They came to Moreno Valley in 1922.
Charlie (as he was known by all) was a great farmer. He raised all kinds of Melons and Walnuts and sold them at his fruit stand on Highway 66, in Moreno Valley, Riverside, California. While in Oklahoma he had a general store on Main Street, Sharon, Woodward, Oklahoma.
Charlie was very well known throught the community and loved by all who knew him.
