Solomon S. Exon died suddenly last Monday of a heart attack at his home in the Menefee section. Only a short time before he passed away he talked over the telephone with relatives and expressed relief that his condition was improving from ailments of the last couple weeks. A short time later his son stopped to see him and found him unconscious.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Ertel mortuary in Mancos.
Sol Exon was born December 15, 1866 and in 1882 came to the Mancos section with his parents. He was married to May Parker of Durango in 1898. Twin sons were born to this union, one of whom proceeded his father in death.
Immediate relatives surviving are his son Henry and family, also 3 brothers and 3 sisters, Mrs. C. G. Kramer of Salt Lake City, John W. Exon, Mancos, Mrs. Mary De La Mater, Trinidad, Mrs Emma Rush, Dolores, W. J. Exon, Dolores, and George Exon of Mancos.
Mr. Exon was vitally interested in the mining section of the east and west Mancos, where he had interests. He spent considerable time during the past two years endeavoring to interest capital in his prospects. The Times Tribune will miss his regular calls and interest in questions pertaining to mining.
