Mr. Holladay died Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Born in Eastover, SC, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Patra Lancaster Holladay. He was a lifetime member of Brookland United Methodist Church where he held many offices and taught Sunday School. He retired as an accountant from State Machinery in 1979 after 29 years of service. Mr. Holladay was a graduate of the University of South Carolina in 1949 and was a Century Club Member of the Gamecock Club. Mr. Holladay was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in Company H, of the 160th Infantry where he received the Bronze Star and was a member of the American Legion Post 79.
Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Linda H. Cleckler (Michael); sons, Billy E. Holladay and John A. Holladay all of West Columbia; three grandchildren, Ken Cleckler, Rodney Cleckler (Kori) and Suzanne Klenck (Andy); two great grandchildren, Emily Vandegrift and Erin Cleckler.
Mr. Holladay was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie C. Holladay, his twin brother, Jackson Bunch Holladay, three brothers, Harold, Thomas and Frank Holladay; his half brother, Jerome Clement and half sister, Myrtle Terry.
