Jinx Y. Derifield, 64, of Ashland, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center. She was born Jan. 26, 1949, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Sylvester “A.C.” and Anna Faye Cox Elkins. She was a former teacher for the Greenup County school system, a member of the Beech Street Christian Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary J. Elkins. She is survived by her husband, James P. Derifield of Ashland; a daughter, Andrea Faye Derifield of Culloden, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home with Minister Kenneth Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. he family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.
