"Do not remember them for how they died; remember them for how they lived."
Dedicated to Palgi
by Adrian and Carl
It is with profound sadness and breaking hearts, that we announce Mathias' passing away on November 26, 2012 at the age of 19.
Beloved and cherished son of Mari and Jaan Palgi, treasured brother of Markus and Joel.
He will forever live on in the hearts of his family, grandparents, cousins, neighbours, extended family and remarkable friends.
Mathias attended the Aalto University School of Chemical Technology, formerly at Helsinki High School of Natural Sciences.
Mathias was a very loving and caring person. He was described as a smart, determined and friendly fellow who was passionate about playing freestyle soccer. He was talented, creative and generous and an amazing person to be around.
Mathias disappeared without a trace in the early morning hours of November 26, 2012 after he had been celebrating his friend's birthday. Mathias was found six months later on May 26, 2013 from the seaside of Otaniemi, Espoo; only 200 meters from the spot he was seen alive the last time.
His death was ruled as an accidental hypothermic drowning.
I hope that all is well in heaven
cause it is all shot to hell down here
I hope that I find you in heaven
cause I'm so lost without you down here,
you wont be coming back and i didn't get to say goodbye
I really wish.. I got to say goodbye.
"You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
..or you can do what he'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on."
Note: Thank you Yolanda, Klaus and Monika for your special rememberance of Mathias.
