HARTFORD - Geneva Ree Addington Sheffield, 88, of Hartford died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at Professional Care Health & Rehab. She was born July 7, 1922, in Ohio County to Alvin Luther Addington and Ora Ellen Brown Addington. She retired from Montpelier Glove Factory, Hartford, after eight years, and was employed by General Electric Co. for 25 years in the grid department. She was a member of Walton's Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Sheffield on Jan. 8, 1952, and her daughter, Dorothy Lou Sheffield Render on Feb. 1, 1989.
She is survived by her son, Edwin Randall Sheffield and his wife, Bertha Mae, of Centertown; her daughters, Elaine Sheffield Tichenor of Philpot and Karen Rae Sheffield Bundy of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 2 p.m. today at Walton's Creek Baptist Church, Centertown. Visitation after 1 p.m. today at the church. Burial in Walton's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Centertown. Miller Schapmire Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
