Trudie Mae Byrd, 89, of the 7500 block of Elwood Road, died April 16, 2002, at Tandem Healthcare of Windsor.
A native of Stokes Co. N.C., she was a homemaker and a member of Wilroy Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Harris and Augusta C. Lewellyn Harris. She was predeceased by a daughter, Doris M. Allen, and two brothers, Ermine Gray Harris and John Raymond Harris.
The widow of Henry Lee Byrd, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne M. and Bryan Midyette and Paige B. and Phillip Mosley, all of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Lisa Byrd of Fort Myers, Fla., Ray and Louise Mabe of Walnut Cove, N.C., and Jack and Joyce Mabe of Suffolk; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Mozelle "Mutt" Brown of Walnut Cove, and Nancy Watt of Seguin, Texas, and a brother, L.C. Harris of Walnut Cove.
A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of the Harrell 7 Hill Funeral Home by Pastor David Nicholes. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends today from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Paige Mosley, 1702 Mill Wood Way, Suffolk.
