James Cunningham, aged 73 years, died Saturday evening at 7 o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. Catherine Winger, of 912 McCleary avenue. Death was the result of an illness of complications of long duration.
He was born October 26, 1873, in Mercer county, and spent his entire life in Mercer and Lawrence counties.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Catherine Shifton Cunningham; one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Grinnen, Wampum; two sons, Carl and Clyde Cunningham, both of New Castle. 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also leaves four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Winger and Mrs. Elsie Buchanan, both of New Castle, Mrs. Jane Haswell, Grove City, and Mrs. Mary Ann Abernathy, Masury, O; two brothers, John Cunningham, Wampum, and Robert Cunningham, Monaca. A son, Walter Cunningham, died in 1928.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Marshall funeral home, Wampum, where friends will be received this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock. Interment will take place in Graceland cemetery, New Castle.
