Firefighter Dodd was killed in an incident where several firefighters and four civilians were injured. While his fire truck, Ladder 1, was on the way to a house fire located at 1315 Shaw there was a head on collision with a streetcar at the intersection of Dallas and Milam street. He was killed instantly.
Husband of Lillian Dodd. Father of young daughter Leila Dodd. Bother of Tom, Moss, Jim and Dick Dodd.
Services were handled by the Houston Undertaking Company.
Cause of Death: Injuries sustained from a fire truck collision.
