Ortho Young's nickname was Brigham and the story as told by his son, Jack Norwood Young is the following:

In 1940 the movie BRIGHAM YOUNG came out. When my Father went to the box office he told them he should get in free because it was about him, as he laughed. They let him in free and he was called Brigham after that. To the best of my remembrance.

Otho Wilson Young

Otho Wilson Young of 313 South Alleghany Avenue, generally known as "Brigham” Young died last night at 7:25 PM at the Alleghany Hospital following an illness of several weeks.

He was born March 13, 1883 in Botetourt County, the son of the late Samuel and Rebecca Evans Young.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Annie Haymaker Young;

Four Sons

Homer G. Young, Covington
W. Murray Young, Covington;
Percy K. Young of San Antonio, Texas
Jack N. Young of Galveston, Texas
S. E. Young of Norfolk, Virginia

One Daughter
Mrs. Leona Burks of Clifton Forge; also

Two sisters,

Mrs. Melvin Simmons of Eagle Rock and Mrs.
Sydney Lipes of Roanoke

Also six grandchildren.

Mr. Young came to Covington in 1928 and followed the carpentry trade in and around here
since then.

The funeral service will take place Friday, March 7 at the Epworth Memorial Church at 4
P. M., and will be conducted by the Rev. W. Boyd Bryant.
