Murder in Montana
Glasgow, Mont., Sept. 14--Amos Carroll, a well known rancher, was found dead by his wife and sister on their ranch near Malta, in Valley county, apparently a victim of a fight between neighbors. The two women heard shots and when Carroll failed to appear that night they searched the next morning and found his remains. Ralph Briggs, a neighbor, suspected by the officers, was found hiding in a well and was placed under arrest. Carroll is known to have trouble with Briggs. The latter refuses to discuss the crime.
