HAMMOND — Iva L. Simmons died on Thursday (5/12/1983) St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.

She was born in Potsdam on Sept. 20, 1929, daughter of Amos and Lora Tupper Bresee.

She married Vane G. Simmons in Colton on June 6, 1948.

Surviving were her husband; a son, Frank of Hammond; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Anna) Manning, Parishville; Laura Simmons, Marysville, WA; and Mrs. Silas (Vanessa) Rusaw, Potsdam; two brothers, Amos Bresee of Potsdam and Lloyd Bresee of Syracuse; six sisters, Leona Cary and Laura Saccone, both of Syracuse; Edith Spears, Potsdam, Eleanor Caringi, Norwood; Grace Simmons, Cortland and Blanch McGill, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren.
