He was a former Western Maryland Railroad engineer, retiring in June 1954, because of ill health, and was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Millie (Biser) Stickell; children, Nelson H., Glen Burnie; Mildred E. Lynn, Hagerstown; Mrs. Ruby Hull, Westminster; and Rosella, at home; brother, Garfield Stickell, Air Force, stationed in Hawaii; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held at the Rest Haven Funeral Home Chapel; interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
