OAKLAND SERVICES TUESDAY FUNERAL HELD FOR L.F. McCRAY

Funeral services were held in Oakland Tuesday for Lawrence P. McCray, brother of Mrs. Bertha Williams of Cloverdale and of the late "Pop” McCray, former Cloverdale resident and owner of the well-known McCray resort in Oat valley. Death came on Saturday, July 13.

A member of a pioneer California family, Mr. McCray was one of 14 children and was born in Cloverdale 80 years ago. Of the many children, Mrs. Williams is the only living member.

Among those attending the funeral were Mrs. Williams, her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Conway of Sacramento, and a niece Mrs. Alice Johnson.

Mr. McCray was graduated from Drake University and for many years was a minister of Christian churches in northern California, including Ukiah and Oakland, having lived in the latter city for about 20 years. He was the oldest member of the Democratic county central committee of Alameda county and was head of the World Forum of the Oakland Fellowship Center.

Funeral services were held from the Chapelle Piedmont, Oakland, with interment at Mountain View crematorium.
