SHOSHONE • Cleora Rae Nebeker Murphy passed away in Boise, Idaho, on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the age of 87.

Cleora was born in Shoshone, Idaho in 1925, to Leona and Quayle Nebeker. She was the first of eight daughters. She graduated from Shoshone High School in 1943. She worked at Hillfield Air Force Base in Utah and Idaho Power in Shoshone.

Cleora married Jack M. Murphy in 1946. She worked at home and also worked part time at the Shoshone Sale Yard and as a cook at the Shoshone Senior Center in the 1980s and '90s, where she was well known for her bread and cinnamon rolls! She lived in Moscow, Idaho, from 2002 to 2012 with her daughter, Colleen.

Cleora is remembered by her children, Sheila Hagen, Maureen Chadwick and Colleen Murphy, all of Boise, and Tim Murphy, along with his wife, Camille, of Jerome. Nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren survive. Her sisters and best friends, Wanda Caroll, Arlene Bateman, Doris Stimpson, Gloria Sorensen, Dee Ann Oyler and Connie Holmes, also survive Cleora.

Her parents, husband, a great-grandson and her sister, Wyoma Stevenson, preceded her in death.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Since her life cannot be constrained by column inches, a celebration of her life and a receptionwill be held from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Fairgrounds Community Center in Shoshone, when anybody may speak about Cleora.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Shoshone Cemetery.
