From The Monitor Review, June 24, 1971:

Funeral services for Otto William Bruns, 58, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Rockwell. The Rev. James Wente officiated. Burial was in the Rockwell Cemetery with Grarup Funeral Home of Sheffield in charge.

Mr. Bruns is the father of Mrs. Jerry Folkers of Osage.

Mr. Bruns was killed Tuesday when his pickup truck went into the ditch and rolled over on a county road northeast of Rockwell.

Born June 14, 1913, near Rockwell, he was the son of William and Anna Hagen Bruns. He was graduated from Sheffield High School in 1932. He was married to Vietta Pederson June 14, 1939, at Rockwell. They had lived in Minneapolis until moving back to Sheffield six months ago. He was a tool and die maker and a gunsmith by trade.

Surviving are his wife, Vietta; a son, Donald, with the Navy in San Francisco; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Betty) Folkers, Osage; a grandchild, a brother, Robert Bruns, Britt; his mother, Mrs. Anna Bruns and a sister Mrs. Robert (Adella) Van Fossen, both of Hopkey, Mo.
