Civil War Union Army officer. He served as a Captain in Company D of the 82nd Pennsylvania Volunteers Infantry, in which he enrolled at Philadelphia on July 23, 1861, giving his age as 38, and mustered in there on August 16, 1861. He was discharged on a Surgeon's Certificate of Disability on December 7, 1863.
