            James Prout victim of Gas
    A Plymouth man was pronounced dead on admittance to Nesbitt Memorial Hospital yesterday afternoon at 3, a half hour after he was found in a gas-filled apartment.
    The victim was James Prout, about 65, of 14 West Main Street. Dr. L. S. Reese, county coroner, last night said the case was under investigation.
    Mr. Prout was found by Joseph Vanjura, who resides in an adjoining apartment, who investigated when he detected the odor of gas. He found Mr. Prout seated in a chair in a room next to the kitchen. On the kitchen stove were pans. Two of the stove jets were open.
    Dr. B. A. Well of Plymouth was called, as were Plymouth police, who took Mr. Prout to the hospital.
    Mr. Prout, a carpenter by trade, retired several years ago. He lived in Plymouth for some time, later moving to Lyndwood. He returned to Plymouth about three years ago and had lived alone since. He was a member of St. Vincent's Church and its Holy Name Society.
    Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Sylvester Weiss, Lyndwood; two sisters, Catherine Prout, Elizabeth, N. J., and Mrs. James Hogan, Larksville; Also four grandchildren, Rosemary And James McGuire and Joseph and Caroline Weiss.
    The body has been removed to the funeral home, 133 West Main Street, Plymouth, where friends may call tonight.
