Fred Williams Morrison Jr. was 55 and died of a heart attack on May 10, 2013 in Fairview, Coos County, Oregon. Fred was the son of Fred Sr. and Norma Morrison and was born Nov 27, 1957.

Fred Jr was generous to a fault, and I don't think I've ever seen him meet someone that he didn't instantly like and he had so many friends.

Fred Jr died young, but he had lived life to the fullest and had experienced many things. His son's told of many camping trips they had taken with their Dad. I remember many times Fred would just drive with his boys up to the snow in the mountains so they could play in it. Fred Jr really love doing it all, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, crabbing, 4 Wheeling, traveling, photography, and music just to name a few. But most of all he loved to barbecue for family and friends and he loved steak and barbequed turkey!

Fred Jr had traveled to Maui, Hawaii and all over the Western U.S. and Canada and had been back and forth from Alaska every year sometimes flying and sometimes he drove taking the inland ferry, where there were no roads in Alaska. 3 years ago Fred was asked to design and built some equipment in Coos County Oregon and lived down here until the time of his death, but his hopes were to go back to Alaska.

When Fred Jr. was younger he had gone to Alaska with his grandparents. So it was no surprise when he moved to Hoonah, Alaska it all seemed a perfect fit for him, he could do all the things he enjoyed and work at the job he loved.

Fred had 3 sons and was so proud of them all, they were wrestlers in High School and Fred was very involved in the wrestling meets during all his sons school years. Each one grew up and together they gave him 8 grandchildren.

Fred was truly a genius, a master engineer, draftsmen and electrician, he built and designing all kinds of equipment for sawmills all over the west coast, and he had also shipped some of the equipment he designed and built overseas. He at one time owned and operated his own sawmill. Fred never stopped thinking about designing and building, even in his sleep he'd dream about it and then come up with a solution to a problem in his sleep.

Fred went to work in Kodiak, Alaska to put an abandoned logging camp back in working order. He did all the electrical, got the generators, cook house, water systems and some construction repairs done and got the camp back up and running.

Fred had also built many homes, including his own home in Alaska, a home he owned in Coquille and his parents home.

Fred loved all his grandkids very much, and when he wasn't working he'd take them for the day just to spend time with them. Fred was a wonderful father to his 3 son, and was proud of each of them. Fred had 7 grandkids and 1 step granddaughter, he loved them all and loved the time he got to spend with each and every one of them.

One thing Fred loved was feeding people, especially BBQ, even if it was 10 or 11 pm he'd be out there barbecuing and when he went crabbing, or fishing, he'd give most of what he caught away or invite all his neighbors and friends over to eat. At his memorial one of his friends told everyone about Fred giving him some green fish, and he had never seen green fish before and thought maybe Fred had left it out too long, when he asked Fred, "How long have you had that fish?" Fred said, "That's Green Ling Cod, that's what rich people eat!"

Fred is survived by his parents, 3 son's Keith, Jeff, and Chris, his siblings Wanda, David, Doris and Tony, 8 grandchildren, his niece, and great nieces, aunt, uncle, cousins and many, many friends... His girlfriend Sharon and her daughter Brianna, and 2 ex-wives that he remained friends with Ronda and Debra.

on May 25th from 11am to 5pm A potluck, celebration of life held for family and friends of Fred was held at Laverne County Park, near Fairview, Coos County, Oregon. Lots of people came to honor and share in Fred's life. John Bruer was guest speaker and talked about Fred's life.
