"Hnason, Peter Contee. {MD} 2d Lieutenant 1st Maryland Battalion of the Flying Camp, July, 1776; 1st Lieutenant of Stevensons Maryland Rifle Battalion, 17th September 1776; wounded and taken prisoner at Fort Washington, 16th November 1776, and died in New York, December 1776, while a prisoner."

Served as a Private Secretary to George Washington during the American revolution and was also a chancellor of Martland and a delegate to Constitution Ratification Convention. A Judge and author of "Laws of Maryland." Married to Rebecca Howard {1758-d.June 21, 1806} parents of Congressman Alexander Condee Hanson whose Brother-in-law Hammond Dorsey {1795-1823} married in 1815 to Elizabeth Pickering {b.November 21, 1793-d.August 11,1819} daugther of Congressman Timothy Pickering and Rebecca White

Another sibling of Peter was Jane Contee Hanson {1747-1781} married to Dr. Phillip Thomas {1747-1815} parents of John Hanson Thomas {1779-1815} member of Maryland legislature married to Mary Isham {1789-1844} daughter of Raleigh Isham and Elizabeth Marshall who was related to Chief Justice John Marshall; John Hanson Thomas and Mary isham were parents of John Hanson Thomas [1813-1881} whose wife Annie Campbell was descended from Col. William Fitzhugh {1651-1701}.
