Then, Vivian married J. J. "Cowboy Joe" Payne.
He had an adopted daughter Ruth Payne and also "claimed" my Grandmother Gladys Kelley as a Payne.
J.J. "Cowboy Joe" Payne passed away. She never remarried. "SMITH", was an alias Vivian adopted to her name, recommended to her by Gladys, her daughter, after J.J. Payne´s death abt. 1953.
She is listed as Widowed in her death record.
I´ve also been told, Vivian sang in a Church Choir, too!
Found in a 1930 Census in Winchester Village, Adams Co., Ohio: Jo J. Payne aged 58, Vivian aged 27, Gladys age 9 (the Census was in April Gladys had birthday in Summer.), Ruth age 8.
