Civil War Union Army Officer. He was commissioned as a Captain on September 2, 1862, and was mustered in as the commander of Company H, 21st New Jersey Volunteer Infantry. He served through the December 1862 Battle of Fredericksburg, then resigned his commission due to disability on January 18, 1863.
