She was a farmer's wife and home maker. She was the daughter of Jim and Emily Dickens Hendricks. She was crippled in one arm after "a cow ran over her". She could never use that arm again but could hoe fields of corn & potatoes, wearing a hole in her apron from rubbing against it. She had many children, John C. who committed suicide on Christmas Day 1938, Effie Stone, Anna Pettry, Laura White, Lura Raines. Her grandchildren were Barbara Wade Brown, Sarah Boggess, Hattie Richmond, Jess Pettry, Roy and Ray White and many from Effie Stone.
