Reporter, News Anchor, Producer and Actor. Born in China to parents of Chinese and Portuguese ancestry, he made television history in 1967 when he became the first Chinese-American on-air television news reporter and anchor in Los Angeles and perhaps in the nation. The following year he signed on as a color commentator for CBS Sports and one year later he made television history again when he became the first Consumer Affairs reporter in the nation for KNXT-TV in Los Angeles. In the early and mid-1970s, he hosted the daily news and interview show, Noontime, which aired for seven years on KNXT and hosted the nationally acclaimed medical investigation show, Medix, which ran for over eight seasons. His work as a producer and a reporter has earned him ten Emmy Award nominations and eight wins. He often played the part of a reporter, news anchor, or himself on films such as 'Oh, God!' (1977), 'Rocky III' (1982), 'Scarface' (1983), 'St. Elmo's Fire' (1985) and also played reporter Casey Wong in all three 'RoboCop' films in 1987, 1990 and 1993. On television he appeared in 'Mission: Impossible', 'Barnaby Jones', 'The Brady Bunch', 'Quincy M.E.', 'The Rockford Files, 'Wonder Woman', 'The Colbys', 'Falcon Crest', 'Murder, She Wrote' and 'Beverly Hills 90210'.
