Roy A. Sedivec, 73, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at Mercy Hospital from complications of lung cancer.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Systems Unlimited.
Mr. Sedivec was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Iowa City, to Carl Charles "Charlie" and Maud Stafford. He married Alice Smith Brown on Jan. 6, 1951, in Iowa City. He was a truck driver for Iowa City Transfer & Storage for more than 23 years, retiring in 1988. He was a lifelong Iowa City resident.
He served as a corporal in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 238.
Survivors include his mother of Coralville four daughters, Klarene Cook and her husband, Sidney, of Mechanicsville, Korrene Greenwald of Iowa City, Donna Peer and her husband, Larry, of Kalona and Joanne Corbett and her husband, Mike, of St. Cloud, Minn. three sons, Richard Sedivec of Iowa City, David Sedivec of New Hampton and John Sedivec of Tiffin one brother and his wife, Charles Edward "Ed" and Tina Sedivec of Iowa City 20 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
His wife his father and an infant son, Thomas, died earlier.
