Abbie Lou Adamson

Services for Abbie Lou Adamson, 102, of Lanett, Ala. (formerly of Brundidge), who died Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at Beverly Health Care in Lanett, are Friday, Aug. 22 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. John Rigsby officiating.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. CST at the Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge under the direction of Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley.

Visitation is today from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

Adamson was born Nov. 22, 1900 in Pike county, the daughter of the late Esther King Windham and Daniel Oscar Windham.

Adamson was a homemaker and had lived in the Pike County area much of her life. She was active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Pike County where she had taught Sunday School for many years. With her health declining, she moved to Lanett to be near her sons.

Survivors include sons John Rowe Adamson for Ft. Walton, Fla., O.C. Adamson of Lanett, and Franklin Delano Adamson of the Lake Harding community; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and asked that memorial be made to the Lanett First Baptist Church in her memory.
