Rev. McMichael died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at Lexington Medical Center Born in Orangeburg, he was the son of the late Henry McMichael, Sr., and Claudia Felder McMichael. He was a graduate of A.J. Thackston High School in Orangeburg. He served four years in the Marines and 23 years in the Army. He retired December 1970 from the Army. He was educated at Kansas University, Lawrence Kan., Park College, Parkville, Mo., Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Mo., and numerous military schools. He received several military awards. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, ordained deacon, former Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and ordained Baptist Minister. He preached and served in Ga., Kan., Korea, Germany, and S.C. He is a member of Dentsville Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Eloise Salvo McMichael; sons, Rev. Henry McMichael, Jr., of Sandersville, Ga., and Rev. Ralph McMichael of Columbia; daughter, Marlene McMichael Brazzell; sisters, Nita Boltin and Henrietta Mount both of Orangeburg, and Ola Gleaton of Greenville; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
