Washington County Deed Books ~ Louis Olson md. Martha Hansing on 9/15/1883; Book 4, Page 82

Immigrated ca 1882 per 1900 census

Children:
Although the 1900 census indicates that Martha was the mother of 6 children with 4 surviving, the obituaries for both she and Louis indicate that they were the parents of 7 children with three sons preceding them in death and 3 sons and one daughter surviving them.

Two sons; Lisle and and Lawrence; died in 1906 and 1885 respectively, so passed before either of their parents. It is entirely possible that Martha lost a son after the 1900 census was taken (she gave birth to Carl in 1900), but at this time, evidence would lead one to believe that there was a son born after the 1900 census was taken who preceded Louis and Martha in death.

Currently known children are Lawrence, Edward, Clara, Lisle, Fred, and Carl.

Note, per Vig Files / Danish Archives
Vig identifies the third son that preceded his parents as Guy Milton, b November 19, 1898 and died September 12, 1899. Interred in Thone Cemetery. His surname is spelled as Olsen in the cemetery record.

NOTE: Birth and death dates on headstone do not match those mentioned in Martha's obituary. The date of publication of her obituaries precedes the death date on the stone and appears to suggest that the stone may be incorrect.

Also note that her death day of November 8 matches the birth date of her husband. Just wondering if that may be related to any error.
