WWII U.S. Army Air Forces, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy
Son of George R. Bozarth Jr & Cora Emma (Anderson) Bozarth. He was the 2nd of their 8 children.
Brother to Jettie C., Gertrude M., Seawillow S., Albert D., Jessie J., Ethel L., & Loy R.
Uncle Walker was a very patriotic man. During World War II he desperately wanted to serve his country as his two younger brothers, Albert & Loy, were doing. But Uncle Walker was epileptic. So, he hid his condition and enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
He was in only a few months when he had an epileptic seizure and was discharged. He then went to the U.S. Marine Corps and joined. This time he was in for almost a year before they caught it. Again he was discharged.
For a third time, he hid his condition and joined the U.S. Army Air Forces. He was in just under a year when he had a seizure and was discharged. Thus ended his military career.
Uncle Walker never married or had children, but he was always my father's favorite Uncle. My father says he was wonderfully kind, funny, and very loving. I met him once, but to my eternal sorrow, I was only 4 and thus to young to remember him.
What a character!
He is deeply loved and missed.
