Ruth, daughter of Warren and Anna Schoeder Ramey, was born on January 21, 1918 in Bismarck, North Dakota. In 1922 she moved to Independence, Oregon where she graduated from Independence High School in 1935. She then attended Oregon Normal School, graduating in 1938 and later received her Bachelor's Degree from Western Oregon in 1968.
On August 24, 1940 Ruth married Richard Domes in Independence, Oregon. After their marriage, they moved to the Domes Turkey Farm near McCoy, Oregon. Ruth taught elementary school in Polk, Yamhill and Marion Counties before retiring in 1978 and then continued to teach as a substitute teacher for several years. Richard preceded her in death in 1974. Ruth moved to McMinnville in 1976. On October 17, 1990 she married Ralph Beach in Hawaii and moved to Salem in 1992. Ralph preceded her in death in 2001. Ruth was a member of the Oregon State Educators Association. She loved dancing, knitting and sports.
Ruth is survived by her sons Gordon Domes of Salem and Delbert Domes of Snohomish, Washington; daughter Ruth Martin of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; sister June Garvey of Salem, OR and 8 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son James Domes in 1951; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
