"United States Census, 1900"
Nels' mother, Anna C Nelson, was widowed and living in Blair, Nebraska. She was declared as the mother of 6 children with two still living at this time. Those two were apparently son, Nels, and his younger sister, Sena, the latter who was born in April 1883 in Denmark.
According to the census, Anna, along with the two children mentioned, immigrated in 1885, presumably with her previous husband (though this is far from certain).
The family also took on boarders; Charles Davis, 27, Iowa; Michael Rohmer, 65, Germany; Frank Green, 38, Wisconsin; and JF Saint, 44, Iowa.
