Mr. Stefan Sambo was a native of Austria and immigrated to the United States in 1903 at the age of 23.
He was the son of Michael and Maria (nee Radavich) Sambo and lived at 4044 Bates Ave. in the City of Saint Louis.
Mr. Sambo died at Alexian Brothers Hospital where he had been ill for 12 days as a result of suffering from stomach cancer. At the time of his death he was 58 years, 10 months, and 22 days of age. His wake and funeral was held at Ziegenhein Funeral Home at 7027 Gravois. His burial was at Sunset Memorial Park in Afton Missouri. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Anna Sambo of the home and 5 children.
Mr. Sambo was a "Cement Contractor" by trade. One of his children Robert Zambo* would subsequently follow in the foot steps of his father and become a cement mason, who was also an executive board member and member of Cement Mason's Local 527 for nearly 65 years.
*Name change from Sambo to Zambo when he entered into the military service.
