A.J. Chumbley Dies at Numa

NUMA--Andrew Jackson Chumbley of Numa passed away Thursday 1 p.m. Dec. 16, 1954, at his home at the age of 92 years, four months and one day.

Mr. Chumbley was born near Macomb, Ill., Aug. 15, 1862, the son of Robert G. and Mary Jane Tarter Chumbley. He was a resident of Numa for 55 years and is a retired employee of the Rock Island Railroad. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jane Chumbley May 26, 1951.

Survivors are four children: Mrs. Lula Beer of Numa; Mrs. Harley Liggett of Collins, Ia.; Harry J. of Trenton, Mo.; and Roy Chumbley of Sierra Madre, Calif.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, John H., and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Baugh of Trenton, Mo.

Funeral services will be held Sunday 2 p.m. from the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. S.R. Cox officiating and burial in the Numa cemetery.
