RICKS RITES HELD TUESDAY
Funeral services for William Edward Ricks, 72, of Route 2, Davis, were held Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. from the First Baptist church in Davis. Rev. N. N. Antonson, pastor of the church, officiated at the rites.
Ricks, who died Aug. 26 at his home, came to Davis 7 years ago from the Pauls Valley community. He was a retired farmer.
Born in Mississippi on Dec. 16, 1884, Ricks spent his childhood there, moving to the Indian Territory in 1900. He settled near Pauls Valley.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Ricks, Davis; one son, Ted Ricks, also of Davis; one brother Parley Ricks, of Wichita Kansas; and one granddaughter.
Burial was in the Mt. Olivet cemetery of Pauls Valley under the direction of Bahner Funeral home of Davis.
Pallbearers were Robert Fullerton, Raymond Green, Charlie Ayers, Gene Gibson, Bo Saunders and Edd Green.
