"Claud Watson, son of the late J. B. Watson, who died early in the week, arrived in the city yesterday. He will today announce the arrangements for the funeral of his father. Meantime the body is at the Loudermilk undertaking establishment." (Dallas Morning News, Dec. 11, 1912).

The cemetery records list his birth as 1884, but it is probably earlier. He was a jewelry store owner in Anson County, Texas in 1910 where he is 51 years old [1859]. His parents were from South Carolina and Georgia.

He married Settie Russell, daughter of John F. Russell and Mary C. Green on 22 Sept 1892 in Greenville, Hunt, Texas. They had two sons: Claud Whittle Watson and Joseph Bryan Watson.
