Funeral for Ethel Marie Speer Jordan, 91, of 25th Street, formerly of Zenas and North Vernon, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, with the Revs. Chet Martin and Joyce Castleman officiating.

Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bartholomew County Area Hospice, First Baptist Church or Free Methodist Church.

Mrs. Jordan died at 7:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 1996, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was a former cook at Maude Moore Restaurant in North Vernon, Suburban Grill, Dormer Center and Lafayette House. She retired in 1956.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and Rebecca Lodge, a former member of First Baptist Church in North Vernon and attended Free Methodist Church.

Mrs. Jordan was born in Zenas Oct. 19, 1904, the daughter of William Alva and Flora Gloyd Speer. She married Lewis G. Jordan March 8, 1924, at Vernon [Jennings Co., Indiana.] He preceded her in death Nov. 10, 1962.

Surviving are daughters, Agnes Jordan, Lillian Imel and Glenna .Kerr, all of Columbus; sons, Alva, Norman and William Jordan, all of Columbus; a sister, Ruth Neal of Elkhart; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons, Melvin Ray and Glenn E. Jordan; a daughter, Vernabelle Jordan; and brothers, Earl and Lester Speer.
